The ball of fluff with teeth from The Dark Crystal – I always wanted one as a pet. Fizzgig, that was it – sort of like a vicious tribble.

  55. 55 Laura Hadland November 9, 2010 at 11:39 am

Johnny 5. Give me a reason why he’s NOT the dude?
He’s robotic, and he wants to be A-live.
And he’s a damn fine dancer.

  56. 56 Jack November 9, 2010 at 5:48 am

I imagine the Narn ambassador G’kar, from Babylon 5 is my favorite non-human alien. Or is he human? All of his foibles are ours, his pettiness, his temper, his short-sightedness. But also his desire for something better, his near-infinite hope that he and his race can rise above their current position, these are also a bold reflection of our humanity.

My favorite non-human character of all-time is Data from Star Trek. He was so borderline human but maintained some of his android characteristics. His use as a reflective tool on human traits was so interesting.

  60. 60 Mr. Chris November 8, 2010 at 10:26 pm

I think my favorite non-human character of all time has to be Yoda from Star Wars. Why? Because he was a little green guy…full of useful knowledge, and the way he spoke was just great!

One of my favorites is Carol from Where The Wild Things Are. Probably because of the emotion the character showed, not just through James Gandolfini’s voice but through the puppetry of his body.

  67. 67 Vanessa November 8, 2010 at 7:10 pm

My favourite non-human character of all time is E.T. It is a classic! Peaceful, likeable, cute alien won’t attack us but need human’s help to go home.

It may gives us a false security, but E.T. & Drew Barrymore just burned that in my head.

  73. 73 MrDisco November 8, 2010 at 6:52 pm

My favorite non-human character of all time is definitely R2-D2. If it wasn’t for him, the good guys would have been defeated many times over! He is the true hero of the Star Wars saga!

  75. 75 Haritina D. November 8, 2010 at 6:46 pm

This was such an amazing experience to watch

  76. 76 Simon November 8, 2010 at 6:45 pm

I would love to win this!

  77. 77 Steve Johnson November 8, 2010 at 6:24 pm

Wall-E is my favourite non-human character because he is so innocent and naive in his actions. I could just see myself in his shoes (tracks) at many points in the film and feeling lost and confused, so I could totally relate.

  78. 78 Jake November 8, 2010 at 6:05 pm

    Chewbacca from Star Wars.

Surely the greatest non human character of all time mainly for his ludicrous voice, which can be used by humans in times of desperation (example – man stubs toe; man: *chewie voice* “gwwwwrrrrrrrrrrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrggghh”).

He also has some pretty good hair going on and has a cross-bow…what weapon is cooler than a crossbow? exactly.

case closed. game over. chewie wins.

If I have to say ONE it is Bilbo Baggins. Bilbo first entranced me when reading The Hobbit. Then I read more Tolkien and became fascinated with a genre of books I had never read before.
But all the hobbits and characters from the series are my favorites of all time.

  88. 88 Neil November 8, 2010 at 5:23 pm

It has to be the awesome Toothless in How To Train Your Dragon.

I would say that was one of my favourite films of this year and the fact that Toothless didn’t talk, was incredibly cute and funny (and looked a bit like my kitten) just made it a fabulous film to watch.
