Then for a second entry, leave a comment on this post answering the following question:

Megamind is a wickedly funny take on a superhero villain but who is your favourite superhero villain of all time? Maybe it’s because of their awesome power? Or perhaps it’s because of their insatiable ability to constantly challenge their nemesis? Or maybe, as in the case of Megamind, it’s because they’ve got a likeable side? From films to cartoons to comic books to computer games who is the ultimate bad guy and why?

To make it easier for us to contact you, leave your Twitter details with your comment.  We look forward to your suggestions!

My favourite is Dr Octopus, because he wasn’t evil just for the sake of being evil, he had a loved one taken from him and unfortunately this pushed him over the edge

  2. 2 phyllis ellett April 1, 2011 at 10:39 am

Marvin Martian ’cause he was cute and he did really really try to beat Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century. They DO NOT make them like that no more.

My fav villain is Lex Luthor as he’s bad to the bone and hates Superman because Supes doesn’t want to share and is not human.

  11. 11 Glenn M March 30, 2011 at 3:42 pm

I have to say The Joker from The Dark Knight. I was first in line at the midnight showing and I had never cheered for a villian so much since watching that film. Sure he is defeated but that makes it even better because you know he is going to be back.

  12. 12 rocketminx March 30, 2011 at 3:33 pm

I don’t know if this counts but Wesker from resident evil! 😀

Super villain of all time would have to be the penguin

  26. 27 estella miller March 29, 2011 at 3:31 pm

Lex Luther of course. But for the most humorous, Dr. Evil! Tweet as @wins4me

  27. 28 JohnK March 29, 2011 at 3:28 pm

My favorite would have to be General Zod from Superman II.

  28. 30 Jorn March 29, 2011 at 2:57 pm

I have two contenders for the title Most Favourite Villain – so I have decided to split the category up in Most Favourite Male Villain and Most Favourite Female Villain.

The first one, the male villain, has to be Dr. Evil from the Austin Powers trilogy – his ingenious secret lair, his sharks with fricking laser beams attached to their heads, his blabbermouth son, his wonderful idea to take over the world and hold the world ransom for ONE MILLION DOLLARS…but the best part has to be that he decends from a Belgian heritage, so he’s able to speak Dutch…which is what I do most of the day as well!

Then my second contender, the female version, has to be Yzma from Disney’s The Emperor’s New Groove – just her sexy appearance, her beautiful voice of the late Eartha Kitt, her incompetence to capture and kill Kuzco and her dumb sidekick Kronk make this one of my favourite Disney villains – not in terms of sheer evilness, but more in terms of comedic laughter!

By the way, my twitter credentials are @jornjokker

  29. 31 Lynne OConnor March 29, 2011 at 2:31 pm

Has to be Superted – how can you not love him? @spanglisher

  30. 32 chris swan March 29, 2011 at 2:06 pm

Catwoman. She is tall, thin, pretty and looks good in black. (just like me! lol) @jadenruby

  31. 33 Ross W March 29, 2011 at 2:00 pm

Lex Luther!! But only Gene Hackman’s take on Superman’s perennial villain.

  32. 34 Matty March 29, 2011 at 12:11 pm

The Joker: a sinister yet charismatic evil genius

  33. 35 Nicky March 29, 2011 at 11:55 am

    following on Twitter @kniknaxnjj

Took my son to see this last weekend. He loved it

My favourite (not quite super) Villain is Dick Dastardly & Mutly from Wacky Racys. He was evil but everyso usless too.

  34. 36 Marvin March 29, 2011 at 11:44 am

I always liked Magneto despite him being a villain. The reason why is because his power kicks so much ass! His power if magnetism in this day and age is what makes it so deadly since metal is all around us, and that’s what makes him a dangerous foe for the X-Men. Plus you can also consider him an anti-hero as there are times where he would team up with the good guys if they have a common enemy.

  35. 37 Teh Sher Lynn March 29, 2011 at 11:43 am

I don’t know why, but the first villain that pops up in my mind is Mojo jojo from the Powerpuff Girls. Well, I know he is so persistent to take over the world and destroy the Powerpuff Girls. But well, he’s just not the “ultimate” bad guy. I do feel is Fay Wong from Tsubasa Chronicles. He just wants to control the time dimension and uses Sakura (heroine) and Syaoran (hero) to do his bidding when he uses a magic that makes Sakura’s memories scatter across different dimensions.

The greatest villain of all time has to Evil Betty from Kung-Pow. Not happy with being the leader of a martial-arts cult, cutting off toes, swinging a large metal claw around himself while standing on top of a waterfall, fighting to a wicked backbeat and employing the incredible power of the tiny net…he also consorts with terrible French aliens and their plans for world domination. He is the perfect foil for The Chosen One, with his small pyramids of power and love of all things ‘birdie’!

  37. 39 karmaperle March 29, 2011 at 10:05 am

Not sure if he’s a real villain but love Pinky from Pinky and the Brain. He’s a little scatter-brained and comes out with some very funny comments that drive Brain mad.

the guy that Javier Bardem plays in No Country For Old Men – it’s the haircut, or the dark-rimmed eyes, or maybe just his sheer mercilessness, but he’s the ultimate bad guy surely

  39. 42 Julie Davies March 28, 2011 at 9:00 pm

my favourite superhero has to be batman – I’ve always been a sucker for a fancy car!

  40. 43 Suzi Hares March 28, 2011 at 8:22 pm

I would be Mr Freeze (Batman) because although he was a bad guy it was all for the love of his wife.

  41. 44 Helen Hodson March 28, 2011 at 8:19 pm

I’m gonna go with the Hooded Claw – how totally freakish was this guy!? Wasn’t Penelope Pitstop his niece or something??? And he was always “after” her?

    What a creep!

Yet, I really like his laugh 😮 So he’s my fave 😉

  42. 45 March 28, 2011 at 8:13 pm

    From @rubyred323232

The ultimate baddy is the Joker from Batman, his painted face and horrible grin scares me to death!

  43. 46 Karen Foster March 28, 2011 at 8:13 pm

It’s got to be Lex Luthor as played by Gene Hackman in the original Superman film. A fiendishly brilliant villain who easily outwitted Superman & was only foiled by Superman’s special powers, otherwise no-one would have been able to stand in his way.
    Fabulous wig too ;o)

  44. 47 Judith Books March 28, 2011 at 8:13 pm

Lex Luther – Superman’s evil rival – but he was smart, intelligent and clever.

Darth Vader ! He´s THE ultimate bad guy. 🙂 He´s mean, he´s got a lot of power, a good back story…It just works very well.

  49. 53 March 28, 2011 at 6:00 pm

Ultimate Movie Bad Guy has got to be Anthony Hopkins in his Oscar winning portrayal of Hannibal Lecter in “The Silence of the Lambs”.I have yet to see a character with a more chilly, controlled, scary performance than his to date.

My ultimate bad guy would be Bowser from the Mario games, that guy just doesn’t give up! He’s not even especially hard to beat, but he’s relentless, even sending his kids to do his dirty work when he’s busy.

  52. 57 Z March 28, 2011 at 5:42 pm

Sephorith from Final Fantasy 7 because of his Masamune Sword. He is the ultimate bad guy because he always comes back!!/SwaDorgk

Megamind was a great movie, very funny!

I guess The Hulk would be my superhero villain. He can save people but he could also destroy. He’s been portrayed as both in movies, comics, and animated series.
