    I only saw Inception and it was fantastical. My daughter thought Black Swan was great but weird. I’d love to see all these movies.

  2. 2 sarah allcoat March 7, 2011 at 1:41 pm

    i have to say I did agree with The King’s Speech winning the oscar but the outstanding performance in the film was definitely Jeffery Rush. he was amazing.

  3. 3 Angela Moore March 7, 2011 at 1:19 pm

    Having seen both The Black Swan and The Kings Speech who were both worthy winners I regret that I never got to see Inception whos special effects seem amazing.

    I loved the Oscars but I thought Social Network was overlooked. I also liked Country Strong. Overall the Oscars were great.

    I’m just so glad to see the Kings Speech get the recognition it deserved after all the talk of boycotting it.

  6. 6 Gena March 6, 2011 at 7:16 pm

    I think the awards were pretty accurate. I must say, the movies were a ‘strange’ assortment this year.

    aah -i’m @humanb3an on twitter – sorry!

  8. 8 jo March 6, 2011 at 4:39 pm

    I think the Kings Speech picked up steam as the awards season went on so it wasn’t that much of a big surprise, although looking back, I think there’ll be some people that will always think Social Network would have been a more worthy and timely winner. Toy Story 3 however would have made history if it had won and that would have been a nice ending for a great trilogy. However, the acting awards were spot on

  9. 9 Diana V March 5, 2011 at 6:49 pm

    With 2 little ones at homes didn’t get to see most nominations other than Toy Story. Seemed right on to me even just based on history of work. Best actor and actress were long overdue for both actors. @Slappy2001

  10. 10 Cheryl (loucheryl) March 4, 2011 at 9:57 pm

    Loved Black Swan. Would love to win it! The Oscar show was boring but I couldn’t watch it until my husband left the room because he hates award shows.

  11. 11 Emma March 4, 2011 at 9:55 pm

    I watched half of the movies that were nominated. Christian Bale is spot on – great performance.

    I am not sure if Colin Firth IS that good (not saying he’s not), maybe this year not many good competitors out there.

    Natalie Portman was great in Black Swan as well.

  12. 12 Lou Chambers March 4, 2011 at 8:52 pm

    No real surprises, watch RED instead, now that was good 😀
    @wombleloulou

  13. 13 Jonathan March 4, 2011 at 6:55 pm

    I saw all 10 best picture nominees this year, and with the results of the Oscar’s, I thought the Academy was spot on with the winners.

  14. 14 Elizabeth Vlug March 4, 2011 at 6:19 pm

    I thought the show was a little flat. Just didn’t hold my interest, no big surprises. But I was so glad that Colin Firth won for The King’s Speech. What a great film and performance. Firth is one class act!

    @Redlizzy1

  15. 15 Travelbuds March 4, 2011 at 5:39 pm

    I didn’t see any of the movies nominated. From people I have talked with all were excellent movies.

  16. 17 Emma fitzjohn March 4, 2011 at 5:26 pm

    I love watching who wins,even tho u kind of know,it must be a fab feeling to win such an award and a feeling that u don’t come down from for a long time,oh well we can all dream to be like them,at least I have my blu rays to
    look forward to lol

  17. 18 Keith Bloomfield March 4, 2011 at 5:24 pm

    Oscars went pretty much as expected apart from Tom Hooper beating Fincher as director. Good to see a British film getting major awards but I wonder if we’ll see a British film nominated next year after the demise of the UK Film Council.

  18. 19 Wendy March 4, 2011 at 5:18 pm

    No real upsets, I think everyone won that was expected too. I wasn’t able to see most of the movies nominated like I usually do, so I have a lot of catching up to do!

  19. 20 216amyc March 4, 2011 at 5:16 pm

    I saw about half of the movies that were nominated and I thought the academy was spot-on with the winners they chose.

  20. 21 Mihai March 4, 2011 at 5:11 pm

    In my oppinion, David Fincher should’ve won Best Director, not Tom Hooper. Other than this, I’m ok with all the winners.

  22. 23 JD Northwest March 4, 2011 at 9:21 am

    Didn’t see many of the nominees this year but the ones I did won I’ll go with “excellent job academy!”

  23. 24 Audrey H. March 3, 2011 at 7:31 pm

    I didnt see any of the nominated movies eek! lol I tweeted @pelletposy thanks

  24. 25 Deborah Curran March 3, 2011 at 6:46 pm

    It seemed the favorites won – since I haven’t seen any of them I really didn’t have an idea of who SHOULD have won

  25. 26 Emily March 3, 2011 at 6:45 pm

    ALL the nominee’s are worthy of winning. They are part of the best of the year. However personal opinion for me would have David Fincher winning best director for expample.
    I love that there wasn’t a sweep of awards by a particular film and that there was 2/3/4 wins to selection of nominees this year. This shows how rich 2010 was for film and they were rewarded.

  26. 27 Michael Harris March 3, 2011 at 6:39 pm

    There were no surprises for me. Was nice that the Oscars were for films I had actually seen, usually they haven’t reached the UK by the time the awards come around

  27. 28 Patricia March 3, 2011 at 5:56 pm

    I think they were spot on. @applespice159

  28. 29 Jesse Gonzalez March 3, 2011 at 4:13 pm

    Thought it was pretty fair even though I thought David Fincher should have won for Best Director.

  29. 30 Heather March 3, 2011 at 3:49 pm

    I was spot on with all of my choices… except for Best Director. 😦 Thought for sure they’d give it to Fincher.

    And in my opinion, Anne and James were great hosts!

  30. 31 Kim Carberry March 3, 2011 at 3:19 pm

    All the winners deserved it!
    @kimmer211

  31. 32 SickPigeon March 3, 2011 at 2:54 pm

    I was at work and didn’t get to watch it. I haven’t seen Inception yet but it looks amazing. If I were to win that’s what I’d pick. Sorry I don’t have anything insightful to add.
    @SickPigeon

  32. 33 Dino D March 3, 2011 at 2:46 pm

    Not really surprised although I did think that Fincher was going to win. I thought the nominees were excellent.

    @daddytyme

  33. 34 Lauren Blinn March 3, 2011 at 2:43 pm

    I agree with all of the winners and thought Anne Hathaway would have done a better job hosting by herself. Don’t get my wrong, James Franco is a great actor but hosting, not so much.

  34. 35 Guy March 3, 2011 at 2:41 pm

    No real surprises but HUGE congratulations to the British SFX team including Chris Corbould who worked on the film INCEPTION
    @TheBoyNash

  35. 36 Lisa Rowsell March 3, 2011 at 2:28 pm

    I thought they got it right this year, and while I’m not a huge fan of Colin Firth I think he deserved an Oscar for such a wonderful performance.

    @Lisa2062

  36. 37 Summer March 3, 2011 at 2:26 pm

    It seems as if they were spot on. I now need to see some more of the winning movies 🙂

  37. 38 Lorraine March 3, 2011 at 11:59 am

    So happy the kings speech won it’s a fab film
    !! Well deserved. Have to agree with comments on the hosts I’ve a feeling they won’t be asked to do it again purely for the lack of chemistry.

    @lorweld

  38. 39 Mary R. March 2, 2011 at 9:57 pm

    *** I thought the Oscars were fabulous,,,I think Kings Speech was well deserved,,,I think the other winners were very predictable and superb choices,,,,I think Sandra Bullock looked “stunning” in her red gown,,I think Natalie Portmans speech was beautiful,,,@alongcamemary1 Mary =)

  39. 40 Anne Mostella March 2, 2011 at 9:47 pm

    I would really like to see The Kings Speech, to know if it is worth all the hype. Hard for me to judge if the right movies won, unless I have seen them all, lol I did expect the ones that won, to win, though.

  40. 41 Danielle March 2, 2011 at 9:17 pm

    I thought it was great. Would love to win. we are trying to get a lot of blue rays since we got a machine for Christmas.. Would be thrilled to win.

  41. 42 Donna K March 2, 2011 at 9:16 pm

    I want to see Inception. I had not seen many of the movies.

  42. 43 Teresa Welch March 2, 2011 at 8:34 pm

    I enjoyed the show myself. The Oscars..Something good is gonna Happen. @Chickster71

  43. 44 Mike Charlton March 2, 2011 at 8:23 pm

    All the winners were pretty just in my opinion. Kings Speech and The Fighter were both on my pick list so I was happy for their wins.

  44. 45 Dave L March 2, 2011 at 8:03 pm

    No surprizes in the outcome, only disappointment there was the typical nominees. The humbug hosting of James Franco was a bore. Academy go back to leaving the hosting duties to real comics ala Billy Crystal etc Anne Hathaway to her credit was game to giving her duties her best shot. James, a thumbs down.

  45. 46 arctic00 March 2, 2011 at 6:10 pm

    Thought Inception would get best picture award. The show itself was boring. The commercials were funnier than the live show.

  46. 47 Melinda Singer March 2, 2011 at 5:12 pm

    Could have gone either way with Social Network and The King’s Speech.

  47. 48 Jane orford March 2, 2011 at 8:59 am

    not a great suprise that the Kings speech won,but Colin Firth deserved it,hope he doesnt carry on to do any old film now

  50. 51 Tina-Marie March 1, 2011 at 10:48 pm

    My two favorite movies were The King’s Speech and The Black Swan, so I think that the Oscar’s were pretty spot on! Inception was also good, but it was my 3rd choice.

  52. 53 Mariana S. March 1, 2011 at 9:52 pm

    No unusual winners, no big surprises at this years Oscars. But probably the most surprising thing was that True Grit didn’t win anything out of its 10 nominations.

    On Twitter: “mariyssa”

  53. 54 Debra P March 1, 2011 at 7:04 pm

    I thought they were all appropriate but others could have won just as well but hence that’s why they are nominated.

  54. 55 Cassandra March 1, 2011 at 6:04 pm

    It was really surprising that the best films got the awards this year!

    RT @cfryer999

  55. 56 Leanne B March 1, 2011 at 5:19 pm

    I think there was a good balance this year with a very wide variety of film genre. I think it maybe showing people have a great appreciation for smaller budget productions alongside the huge Hollywood blockbusters which should give great inspiration to up & coming producers / directors.

  56. 57 Suzanne DS March 1, 2011 at 4:37 pm

    All winners deserved it! I totally just don’t like Anne Hathaway and James Franco as hosts, they don’t click at all 😦

  57. 58 Marvin March 1, 2011 at 4:20 pm

    I thought best director award should have gone to Christopher Nolan for his direction of Inception. The movie was totally unique in every way, not to mention the fact that the man nearly created the movie in every aspect himself. Other than that I also thought True Grit would’ve at least won something, that was a great movie. Otherwise everything was spot on.

    RT @VeridisQuo1

  58. 59 Rebecca J March 1, 2011 at 4:19 pm

    They went pretty much the way I thought they would, except I thought Amy Adams would win. I am surprised that Mark Walhlberg was overlooked, not that I think he would have beat Colin Firth, but I think he should have been nominated. @hairgirl1966

  59. 60 Christen Flowers March 1, 2011 at 4:11 pm

    I am amazed that Leonardo DiCaprio has given so many great performances but never got the main prize. Why do Hollywood hate him?

    My thoughts are bring Billy Crystal back!! @MCJunkie

  62. 63 Lisa Grassetti March 1, 2011 at 2:38 pm

    I didn’t watch The Kings Speech so I can’t really post on that. Was not a movie I wanted to see. I have to say it was very predictable. I would of loved to see the Fighter win more. Inception would of been nice to win the Best Picture. The ladies looked fabulous and the men looked dapper in there tuxes.

  78. 79 Cort K February 28, 2011 at 4:43 pm

    I was very happy that Inception won but upset True Grit didn’t really get the attention it deserved. Yes! I understand that it’s a remake but come on where is the dignity.

  79. 80 Melinda Singer February 28, 2011 at 4:33 pm

    I thought the chocies this year were right on the mark and winners well chosen. In some cases I think it really narrowed down to two contenders and either of those would have been fantastic. As far as the acting nominees are concerned all great performances. Please next year or anytime in the future NO Gywnth Paltrow singing, IMHO the worst moment of an otherwise brillant evening.

    I’ve not yet seen The King’s Speech or The Fighter, so I can’t comment on those awards, but I do certainly agree with Natalie Portman winning Best Actress for Black Swan. The film is good, but she was superb, entirely living up to and surpassing the expectations created by her debut in Leon all those years ago.
    The Best Animated Feature was a difficult one, any of the 3 would have been a deserving winner, but I was sure Toy Story 3 would win it.
    I loved Inception, so am pleased to see it pick up awards for the cinematography, effects and sound, but it’s probably fair that it didn’t win Best Picture.

  89. 90 ANDY WILLIAMS February 28, 2011 at 3:09 pm

  94. 95 beverley February 28, 2011 at 1:59 pm

    I had a list of predictions and was right on with all of them so no surprises. I will say that for best actor I would have had a very hard time choosing. There were some amazing performances.

    I’m glad Melissa Leo won because I have been a fan of hers for many years. And I have to say this…I was very surprised to see how beautiful she is. She picks roles where she underplays her looks…Homicide, Fighter, etc.

  99. 100 whitbord@cox.net February 28, 2011 at 1:39 pm

    No real suprise except Leo and the F bomb. So happy about Black Swan win.

  100. 101 claire February 28, 2011 at 1:35 pm

    Should have added twitter @nemilho

  102. 103 Nathan H February 28, 2011 at 1:34 pm

    No surprises at all on the night which was a shame.

    In my opinion King’s Speech wasn’t the best film, Inception was (but that was never going to win in a million years due to it being sci-fi) and best director should have gone to Social Network. Easy to see why they went with King’s Speech though.

  103. 104 john knight February 28, 2011 at 1:33 pm
