Be prepared for some sleepless nights because for this week’s Blu-ray Monday, we’re giving away a Triple Play copy of ‘Paranormal Activity 2’.
Taking place three months before the chilling original, Kristi (Sprague Grayden) and Dan (Brian Boland) welcome newborn baby Hunter into the family home. However, it soon becomes apparent that something is not right and as a demonic presence grows in the household their lives are turned into an inescapable nightmare.
As usual with Blu-ray Monday, you have two chances to win. For your first entry, simply retweet the following post on Twitter: Tweet this
Then for a second entry, leave a comment on this post answering the following question:
‘Poltergeist’, ‘The Blair Witch Project’, ‘Casper the Friendly Ghost’, ‘The Ring’, ‘House on Haunted Hill’, ‘Ghost’, ‘Ghostbusters’… the list goes on and on! From the comical to the frightening it seems we can’t get enough of spooks on our screens.
What’s your favourite ghost film and why do you love it so much? Which spirits from the movies have fascinated, moved, scared, repulsed or even amused you and why? We’d love to know!

My favorite ghost film is The Others with Nicole Kidman. The movie has a fucking amazing ending! And Nicole is so hot in the film.
The Sixth Sense
Brilliantly scripted ghost film with two for the price of one. Great rewatchability.

The shining has to be the most scariest horror movie, it’s all down to Jack Nicholson of course, it’s all in the eyes!

The Blair Witch Project scared the crap out of me and still does! Just the amateur look of the movie and the way the actors portrayed it. It’s one I cannot watch home alone and I am a huge scary movie fan!
@bikerblue1972
Paranormal Activity has got to be my best horror. It is a true to life film and the way it has been made is brilliant,The use of the camcorder recording the film is great and makes it more on the edge of your seat stuff…I’ve got to admit that it took me a while the night I watched it to fall to sleep..lol…cant wait to watch the second one…(may watch it in the day though next time!!)

The original Amytiville Horror freaked me out.

my fave would have to be poltergeist, i remember seeing that as a kid be afraid of the words:
They’re here
I enjoyed Haunted Mansion with Eddie Murphy even though the ghosts are not in the least bit scary. Mainly because I love the ride at Walt Disney World in Florida. They did a really good adaptation of it.
Rolly_Coaster
Has to be POLTERGEIST, for some reason the fact it has rubbish special effects and relys more on acting just scares me.. or it could be because it was one of the first ‘ghost’ films I watched before I got used to them.
@Selene1611
I think Blair Witch was amazing – everything about it from the way it was marketed to the way it was shot to look like amateur footage.
The fact that it could be so frightening without you ever actually seeing anything scary as such. Brilliant.
Poltergeist is my favorite Ghost movie because I always thought Poltergheist was the scariest type of ghost. The story is wild too, especially with the little girl in the movie, it made it 10 times scarier.
My favourite ghost film is The Frighteners, it’s slightly spooky and absolutely hilarious, an oldie but a goodie
Poltergeist (1982)
The Ring – Samara was a ghost
Great film to give ya the willies!!
@pearlmademedoit
The shinning would be my favorite.
Ghost is my favourite “ghost movie” I love Patrick Swayse and it was a heartfelt film.
Ghostbusters by far is my favorite! Whats not to love! What a classic movie!
Mine would be Ghostbusters because it was hilarious.
I have to say Paranormal Activity. That movie freaked me out. My hubby and I watched it together one night, when it was over we had to watch something else for an hour because we didn’t want to go to bed right away. lol!

Amityville 4: The Evil Escapes , i love the old type of horror movies like Amityville and evil dead and so on unlike todays ones that seem more cheesy and not so scary. Maybe being a 70’s child has something to do with that.
My favourite ghost films were the Poltergeist movies, even now, I cant bear to be alone in the same room with a large mirror!! I haven’t watched them for years, I’d probably laugh at how bad the special effects are now.
I’m following on twitter and have re-tweeted (ID: cfryer999).
‘The Others’ proper freaked me out!
The Others proper freaked me out!
My favorite movie is “Ghost” , not only because I love the late Patrick Swayse’s movies, but because the movie made you really believe. Following twitter @kaflickinger74
forgot to mention my twitter name as dinky2blue lol
Poltergeist has to be my favorite, it was the first scary ghost movie I saw and scared the bajibies out of me and that little lady still gives me the willies!
@hairgirl1966
there are a few really good ones out there, but I reckon Ghost is my fav as its humourous and emotional, seen it a few times now!
I retweeted @ChristenFlowers
I would have to say Paranormal Activity. Simply because it hits so close to home. Growing up in a small town in Louisiana, i have had lots of experiences with “something”. And it seems where ever i have moved strange things have happened at every place. Just wonder sometimes if something may be attached to me? @tiffany053p
I like 13 Ghosts-kinda scary, kinda quirky
My favorite ghost film will always be Poltergeist. The movie scared the crap out of me as a kid! It’s a classic.
I think it is a tie between The Shining and The Amityville Horror!! Both of those are classic!! Paranormal 1/2 right up there also 🙂 Twitter name @insanewith3
paranormal activity was creepy because it was relatable. just like any of the movies with old ladies or young girls being the scary or bad one. they relate to us so therefore are scarier. @tracyparral
The Exorcist. Like projectile vomiting!! @cobraxcobrax
Mine is Casper the Friendly Ghost! He is so cute and I just love this movie! Twitter name is @HappyMomC
It has to be the Exorcist! Like projectile vomiting!
oops twitter name is mandachic
Casper – the reality of it is transparent!
My favorite ghost-oriented horror film is Peter Jackson’s
‘The Frighteners’ (1996). Starring Michael J. Fox. For me, the film had just the right amount of comedy to blend with the horror aspect of the film, to make you laugh (which is a good thing). The film offered the equally right amount of horror element as well(which is also equally important). Comedy and horror has proven time and time again that the two genres can blend together quite well when you have such people involved like Sam Raimi. Several of the ghosts in the Frighteners were hilarious! The Frighteners (in my opinion) is a modern day classic cross-genre film! For me, it ranks right up there with The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and the Army of Darkness! among others.

My favorite ghost movie is Thir13en Ghosts because it has a lot of hauntings, some humorous parts and is very visually interesting. I am a huge fan of cheesy horror movies and movies that don’t take themselves 100% seriously get a star in my book.
POLTERGEIST scared me as a kid and still scares me to this day. The clown… the tree… the slime… the light… AAAAHHHHHH!!

I actually love White Noise (and the second) if that counts? I liked it so much because it wasn’t just a general tacky “ghost” film – it dealt with the very real white noise phenomenon. It was a very underrated film in my opinion. @MySonsSpongeMad on Twitter.
I love the Scream films they remind me of sleepover parties with the girls when I was younger and we had to get our big sisters to rent the films out for us!
That mask still scares me!
Ghostbusters is a fav of mine. Great actors & movie was hilarious. Back when movies were actually funny.
I can’t see me winning this one either!
Sixth Sense as the character Bruce Willis plays does not appear as a ghost in the traditional way.
Forgot Twitter name, sorry – Rachel1383 x
It has to be Casper – he makes me laugh and cry every time! x
*shudder* The Entity…..whatever that ghost/poltergeist/malevolent force was it frightened the bejabers out of me.
The poltergeist scared and scarred me as a kid and still does today but gotta love it @briandav2010
The polt
When i was younger it was a super rare old disney movie called Mr. Boogedy .. it was brilliant and he was terrifying, as i got older the Mothman absolutely fascinated me and the scene where he was on the telephone gave me goosebumps on my head it still sends shivers down my spine.
Mine is paranormal activity – I thought it was great but really freaked me out. It amazes me how they make these films and although horror films scare me I cant help but watch them
My favourite horror is Paranormal Activity. I love it because it appeals to my own experiences – we’ve all laid in bed and heard noises at night or found soething in a different place to where you could have sworn you put it – Paranormal Activity just took it one step further and now I’m extra-scared when I hear noises int he night!
