Blu-ray Monday Giveaway: Léon

[tweetmeme source= “blurayreporter” only_single=false]
With the Oscars fast approaching, for this week’s Blu-ray Monday we’ll be giving away a copy of ‘Léon’, featuring Best Actress Nominee Natalie Portman.

Léon (Jean Reno) is a ruthless hit man who forms a close friendship with his orphaned neighbour Matilda (Portman). Featuring an outstanding portrayal by Portman at the tender age of 12, this touching film combines action and remarkable emotion culminating in one of her finest performances to date.

As usual with Blu-ray Monday, you have two chances to win. For your first entry, simply retweet the following post on Twitter: Tweet this

Then for a second entry, leave a comment on this post to the following question:

Henry VIII’s wife, assassin’s side-kick, psychotic ballerina and Darth Vader’s girlfriend. If variety is the spice of life, it’s safe to say Natalie Portman is hot property given the huge array of roles she’s tackled in her career so far. If you could choose her next starring role, what would you pick for her to take on and why?

To make it easier for us to contact you, leave your Twitter details with your comment. We look forward to your suggestions!

I’d like to see her reprise the role of Mathilda in a sequel of Leon: The Professional

  3. 3 Jeremy Alliger February 4, 2011 at 5:56 am

I wish she was still attached to “Pride & Prejudice & Zombies”,
But any movie where she has an emotional crying scene…she is the best crier!! @jalliger

I love to see her in a comedy…does she have the chops?

I’d love to see her in another Aronofsky movie. The two of them together its a perfect combination. Also, I think she has all the potential to play a strong, intelligent, life-chanching woman in a movie, a character who can inspire us about the power and all good things that woman can bring to our world.

Although I loved Noomi Rapace as The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo I have a feeling Natalie Portman could have been equally convincing.

  8. 8 Vanessa February 3, 2011 at 3:42 pm

I’d like to see her play a superhero, she could bring depth to something that is often seen as bubblegum. @nomibcf

  9. 9 fudgenuts February 3, 2011 at 3:26 pm

I’d like to see her take on a role a zombie flick. Granted, this wont push her, but maybe she has what it takes to be an all-action, ass-kicking zombie killer.. And none of those super fast sprinting zombies either!

She’d make a killer Bond girl. Being a versatile, HOT actress, she’d be perfect!!

I would like to see her play someone evil. Like a jilted lover or obsessed fan. I think she would be very convincing.

@eyewonit Natalie in a role like the lead in the Seven Faces of Eve. Something psycho but endearing.

Now that they’ve announced they’re gonna make The Stand into a movie, I’d love to see Natalie Portman play Nadine Cross. It’s a complex role and after seeing Black Swan I know she’s capable of playing it and playing it well. I almost wanna say she could play Frannie, but I feel that Nadine is a meatier role.

I’d like to see her tackle the role of Moonchild if there’s ever a “Neverending Story” remake. With some make-up wizardry I definitely see her transform into an infinitely wise centuries-old child.

Maybe a starring role in a 3D Wonder Woman film maybe… Make a strange change 🙂

  21. 21 Frank February 2, 2011 at 2:46 am

Like others, I’d love to see Natalie Portman take on a sequel to Leon. I think it’d be an amazing movie!

The lone rumored sequel to Leon, where we see Matilda all grown up

  24. 24 lindydnil2@yahoo.com February 1, 2011 at 5:07 am

Amal in Mornings in Jenin. It would be a role requiring an actress to be a highly compassionate heroine. @lindydnil

  25. 25 Diana V February 1, 2011 at 4:42 am

I would love to see her do another goofy fun role in a drama like Garden State. she can bring depth to any character and I’ve been a fan since The Professional and I just try not to think about how constrained she was by bad writing etc in the Star Wars films 🙂 @Slappy2001

  26. 26 Rebecca J February 1, 2011 at 1:28 am

I’d like to see her play the main character in a action film, a roll they would usually give to Angelina Jolie!
    @hairgirl1966

  27. 27 Marie Leclerc February 1, 2011 at 1:23 am

A teenage phycho killer cuz its all i could come up with…..

  28. 28 Tina Rath January 31, 2011 at 10:14 pm

I agree a movie on her SNL would be great!

  29. 29 Brandon January 31, 2011 at 9:05 pm

I’d love to see her in a FUNNY comedy (Apatow maybe). Something she can show her bubbly personality in.

  30. 30 Jay January 31, 2011 at 8:42 pm

I’d like her in a sci-fi movie. A proper one, without action. @misterjk

  31. 32 Debra P January 31, 2011 at 8:31 pm

I’d love to see her in a Martin Scorcese classic like The Departed!

  32. 33 Diana V January 31, 2011 at 7:45 pm

This role in The professional was my fav of hers crazy at such a young age. I kind of agree it would be fun to see her play a goofy fun role like her character in GARDEN State because she does light character with such depth also! @Slappy2001

  33. 34 Bradley C. January 31, 2011 at 5:43 pm

I’d love to see her star as a helpless girl in a good horror movie. I think she could pull the scared/frightened emotions off really well. Maybe she could star as Dracula’s bride in a remake of Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I think that would be pretty cool.

  34. 36 gavask January 31, 2011 at 5:32 pm

Can some one correct my typo’s, suffer from dumb finger typing!

  35. 37 gavask January 31, 2011 at 5:31 pm

A sequel to Leon would be superb, the film could revisit Mathilda as an adult who has started to work as a ‘cleaner’ in order to sort out her neighbour hood, a kind of death wish style film, she would be a primary school teacher by day and a hard nosed assasin by night killing in a variety of ways.

I know it is kind of ‘long kiss good night’ gener but I would love to see Natalie portman with a silenced pistol in the small of her back taking out the bad guys with stealth.

  36. 38 helen rhoads January 31, 2011 at 4:34 pm

I love this film its fab would love to win @rhoadsay
