My best movie moment of 2010 was watching Tangled 3D with my husband (who hates animated movies) and my 6 yr old daughter. This was the first 3D movie we ever watched and we were all stunned and talked about it all day long. Even my husband!

  79. 80 Ken December 15, 2010 at 7:26 pm

@damize4u. I do not have a theater memory from this year, but I do have a memory I will never forget. My last movie I seen in the theater is platoon.. Yes you heard right, it has been along time since I have been to the movies. My father was kind of a hard man, he did not express himself well or at all. When the movie platoon came out my dad actually asked me to go with him. I felt almost invincible, it meant so much to me. He spared no expense that night, which really suprised me, I had to keep on looking over at him to make sure it was my father and not some alien replacement. That was the first time I seen my father go to the movies, unfortunately it was the last time too. I bought him the movie for Christmas that next year, not sure if he ever watched it. Really do not know what happened to it, but I was secretly wishing he would invite me over to watch it with him again. That never happened, he left this earth in 2001. I did buy the movie once again, and I shared it with my family. It too was a good day, just wish he was here to share in the experience. Sorry for rattling on like I did. Thanks for reading and have a very merry Christmas!

I’m going to go with the shocked face moment that was the end of Remember Me. My boyfriend actually turned to me and asked if I was okay, the emotion in the small screen it was shown in was apparent, we were all choked up and silent.

I’ve since got it on dvd, it’s a very discreet and unassuming movie. Funny at times, heartbreaking at others, and I’ve grown to love it for more than just Robert Pattinson, who was initially the only reason I went to see it!

Thanks for running these giveaways, answering these questions every week has been fun and I love seeing the different answers!

My favourite moment of 2010 comes very recently, and is a key moment in Jalmari Helander’s ‘Rare Exports’.

The dark scene sees the locals proding and poking the crouched naked ‘santa’in the meat house, when suddenly he begins to sniff and slowly turn his head; his evil eyes lighting at the prospect of catching his prey, as he can smell the child peering through the window.

The direction, music and sinister acting in this scene epitimises the dark nature of this festive tale.

Didn’t get to see a lot of films this year, but what I did see was Inception and enjoyed that film more than any other for a long time. The best and funniest scene was them being thrown about in the van as it went over the edge.

I was surprised how sentimental I was watching Toy Story and I even got a little teary eyed as they held hands going to the furnace. Great job if i get sad about animated characters!

The best movie moment of 2010 is the final act in Black Swan. There was so much passion, emotion, and cinematic detail in the last act, and I don’t want to give anything away, but it was just incredible and I feel blessed to have witnessed that incredible moment in movie history. It literally put me into tears.

I think Toy Story 3 meant the most to me. Being a mom to soon-to-be two boys, it made me tear up to see Andy leave home and part with his childhood. Kids grow up too quickly!

Some of my favorite movie moments of 2010 are connected to the movie Avatar. I know it was released in 2009, but it shined in 2010. So…
Avatar was the very first movie I saw in 3D, and, furthermore, was the first movie I saw in an IMAX theatre. I absolutely loved the experience and it quickly became one of my all-time favorite movies.
Afterwards, Avatar was my first Blu-ray movie. I bought it in the spring, on the day of the release, early morning to make sure I can still get a copy 😀 Unfortunately, it didn’t have any extras, so to win this week’s prize, which includes the 3-disc extended version, would be fantastic.
And, up until now, that Blu-ray version of Avatar I bought months ago is one of the only 3 Blu-ray movies I have. I love Blu-ray movies, they are awesome, but I can’t afford to buy them too often. So this prize would be more than welcomed 😉
    Thanks for this great giveaway!

My favourite movie moment of 2010 is the scene in Toy Story 3 when all the toys are about to go into the fire pit at the rubbish dump. The scene is so powerful without a single word of dialogue – the use of the toys’ body language makes it so emotional, especially when Bullseye is panicking and Jessie touches him as if to say ‘ It’s too late’. After 5 years of being housebound due to agoraphobia my daughter & I ventured out to see Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland at the Showcase in Dudley. To mark the occasion we bought a Premier package which included exclusive seats, popcorn and a drink. The staff were slightly bemused as they hadn’t sold many of these packages but they made us feel like VIPs.
We settled into the oversized seats with a side tray as well as a drinks holder and no middle arm when an usherette appeared to check our tickets. She then produced a china tray with 2 blueberry muffins, some nachos with a salsa dip and a box of Celebrations chocolates with the compliments of the management.
The film lived up to expectations too!

The pinnacle of my movie going year has to be the moment Hit Girl shows up to rescue Kick Ass, I found it somewhat strangely satisfying watching a 13 year old girl hacking & slicing up foes and taking pleasure from doing so.

The sound track, although cheesy, sat very well with the action sequences. This movie blew all my expectations (& doubts) out of the water & made for one hell of a spectacle, without doubt my most enjoyable movie of the year… nay, past three years.

My favoroite film moment of 2010 would have to be when I watched ‘Splice’ with my Brother. We are both big time film/movie critics, and I’m a former DVD reviewer. On occasion we’ll take a break from our busy lives and enjoy a movie together. This time the movie was ‘Splice’. To be honest I’m a fan of Dark Castle Ent. films, and have been since the remake of ‘House on Haunted Hill’. My Brother, and I disagree about a few of the films from Dark Castle Ent., but we agreed on what we thought about ‘Splice’. After watching ‘Splice’ all the way through we turned and looked at each other waiting for one or the other to give their critique. There was a bit of a silent pause, but then I spoke saying “That’s Awesome!”. My Brother, being the sophisticated college student that he is simply said “Yes it was.” We talked over the points of the movie, and decided that though it had a sci-fi side to it, it also had a moral standpoint. In essence we summed it up by saying the movie was an excellent example about how tampering with nature will come back to haunt you.

My son was only 2 when the original came out and we went together to see Toy Story 3 because we had watched the others over and over again together. It is a big deal to me that at 17 he was willing to go to see this one with me, and it was kind of cute to see him shed a tear, although he was trying to hide it from me!! My favorite movie event of 2010 is when we went to the drive-in to see Toy Story 3.. We had such a good time.. It is a wonderful way to watch a movie and the kids had so much fun.. Because of the way we saw the movie.. we will never forget where we saw it.

I loved the end of Toy Story 3 when Andy gave his toys away & played with them 1 last time.

We went to see The Karate Kid at a preview screening and I just lived the scenery from the top of the great wall and that mountain they went up. the bit with the fly swat was pretty good too!
