The girl out of The Ring. If there’s one thing that is guaranteed to terrify me, it’s evil children!
About a year ago I woke in the night and thought the girl was stood at the end of my bed. Turns out it was just a white chair with a black dress thrown over it… Still, I slept with the light on for weeks later! 😦
Child’s Play has always scared me. My uncles didn’t realize how terrifying it would be for me to see when I was 5 years old. Every since I saw it, I couldn’t be around dolls or anything like that.
I still get scared thinking about it.
Have never seen the whole movie.
..don’t think I ever will.

Oh my god, The Hand was the scariest movie ever to me. About a hand that had been cut off and went all over & killed people in different ways. It was so scary.
I still have nightmares about the clown under the bed in Poltergeist, I watched it when I was quite young and still check under the bed sometimes.

The movie “Child’s Play”… Chucky is so freaky
I have always been pretty good with horror movies, but that is thanks to some very liberal parents who allowed me to feed my desires for all things horror at a certain age.
However, one thing has always freaked me out – dolls. Gore, blood, chainsaws, finger-knives were no problem for me as a kid… but it was the low budget straight to video Stuart Gordon film from 1987 entitled ‘Dolls’ that had the biggest impact on me.
A terrible film? yes… but you haven’t even heard the worst part. It wasn’t the movie that disturbed me so much as a child, it was the poster that hung so prominently on our local video store wall.
I would wake up screaming in the night with that porcelain face staring back into my brain… and I hadn’t even seen the flick!
Ahhh… the power of good marketing.
i hope this doesn’t suck, haven’t had a chance to watch yet.

I saw the Exorcist when I was way too young. I was convinced that I would get possessed and that played on my mind for ages!! Nightmare on Elm Street is still my all time fave horror franchise…so much so I called my son Freddy! He’s 15 months old now and still keeps me awake at night! hehehe

Frailty had me waking up at night thinking there was a guy standing and the foot of my bed with an ax lol. Old school Halloween, A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Descent, and The Howling.

For me some of the scenes in the original salems lot really gave me nightmares, especially when they were floating outside the bedroom window tapping tap tap tap …… Freaked me out at the time!

The movie’s that scared me the most were the Exorcist and the Omen. Stuff that I feel really could happen is what keeps me awake at night!
The possessed girl in the cellar in “The Evil Dead”. I scared the beejesus out of my husband once by imitating her when he went into the closet in the middle of the night to get dressed for work. I sat up in bed, cocked my head and started to cackle with my eyes rolled up and I think he screamed like a little girl.

I hated the film, but for some reason the very end of The Blair Witch Project where they find the guy facing into a corner absolutely freaked me out and I couldn’t sleep when I thought about it! @nomibcf

‘The Omen’ gave me the heebies. The sight of evil little Damien peddling his squeaky trike down the hall to push his mother over the balcony is engrained in my mind. Every time i see a child on a trike i think of it. *shivers*. Such horrible other murders in the movie too. I loved it though!! Cue evil laugh!

The last scene in The Blair Witch Project when they are running up and down in that old fart-witch house. Its scary as hell.
i still have nightmares about Jaws when the guy went down in the cage 😦 freaked me out so much i still hate the tunnels at water parks when you can view sharks etc
I am absolutely terrified of – I don’t know his name – the bloke who sings “God is in his Holy Temple” in Poltergeist. He scares the living daylights out of me and I can’t watch that film at night because he pops up in my dreams.

Freddy was definitely one of the characters that kept me up at night.
I remember watching all the old black and white classics – Dracula, The Wolfman and the soap opera Dark shadows. I was afraid of vampires and still to this day can not sleep unless I have my neck covered!!

The Nightmare on Elm Street series! Because you can’t fall asleep lol
I never had many nightmares due to a particular movie, but when I was a kid I had a continuing nightmare about a giant vampire who would chase me through a parking lot. I would hide under cars and he would grab them with one hand and lift them up. Pretty scary stuff.

When i was little I was scared of the main witch from The Witches!
Best one though is that my boyfriend (who isn’t fazed by any horror films) was terrified of the Honey Monster! Still gets a bit freaked out if I accidentally email him a picture of it…not that I would do such a thing!
I never saw the old school horror films but the film that kept me up most nights was Arachnophobia. The film scared the crap out of me, and I still hate spiders to this day.

event horizon was pretty terrifying! made even scarier by the fact you don’t actually see the thing that is haunting the ship. sam neill hamming it up is always fun as well!
Nightmare on Elm Street was the original scary movie when I was a teenager but the other one was Candyman..i avoided the mirror for ages!
I was never scared of the monsters… but the mob with the torches and pitchforked which showed up through the classic universal movies to burn frankenstein and hunt the wolfman was terrifying. I always feared they’d come for me.
My kids love scary movies and I loved Nightmare on Elm street when I was younger but now I cant think about Freddy would not be able to sleep lol

It was the original Nightmare On Elm Street film. My Mum let me watch it when I was about 14 when I was with her. I made her wait at the bottom of the stairs after it was over while I went to the loo as I thought Freddie was going to come and get me lol. I’ve seen all the others since so I have got over it

The original was the best horror movie of it’s time & I bet they’ve added tons more blood & gore in this remake.
I was scared silly by Poltergeist when I was a child. My neighbour made me watch it when I was 6! The image of the skeletons coming up out of the swimming pool have never left me and I wouldn’t go swimming for ages afterwards! Have never watched the film since either!
When I was younger the creatures from Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal kept me awake at night. Now it’s just David Cameron that scares me every time he appears on TV to announce something…
The scene from Friday the 13th part 3, when Jason was hanging lifeless in the barn and then unexpected lifts his hockey mask, smiles at Chris (the survivor) and proceeds to untie the noose and continue pursuing her. That horrible face was etched into my subconscious! @tiburonmarrajo
Wolf Creek was a little unnerving, but on the whole I usually just laugh my way through horror films as the CGI is usually OTT, and the characters are so grating that I hope they don’t hang around too long lol.
For me the scariest charachter was and still is Jack Nicholson in The Shining. No matter how many times I closed my eyes I could never get that “Here’s Jonny: out of my thoughts.
